It's funny how smells can evoke such strong memories. Some of the things that really stand out around the holidays are all the beautiful scents, like, cookies baking in the oven and maybe even a real Christmas tree.
With the holidays right around the corner, I wanted to stock up on some items to make my home smell like Christmas. Here are just a few items I found at Dollar Tree:

Ultra Sunlight Dish Detergent (Orange)
Used on its own for dishes or combined with baking soda and made into a paste for a scrubbing cleaner, this stuff leaves a delicious lingering scent. Although it's a smaller bottle, it's a nice amount to treat yourself and feel festive while you're doing the dishes too.
Supreme Tradition Ground Cinnamon, 3 oz.
Lou & Nicky's Lemon Seasoning
Supreme Tradition Imitation Vanilla Extract, 8 oz.
Combined in a small pot with 2-3 cups of water and kept on a low simmer for around 15-20 minutes, these scents mixed together will make your home smell fantastic. Although I couldn't any at my Dollar Tree, some locations also carry Ground Cloves and Ground Nutmeg which would be a nice addition.
Luminessence Apple-Cinnamon Potpourri, 4-oz. Bags
I picked up some of this apple cinnamon potpourri and thought I would place some in these cute and Christmassy gold Shimmer Organza Bags (which I found in the wedding aisle). This way I can disperse the smell of baked apple pie all around the house, in closets, cupboards and drawers. I won't be putting this stuff too close to any fabrics though because the red dye looks like it could stain. I haven't tried this particular potpourri before but it smells great and I'm excited to see or 'smell' if it will last through the holidays.
Pine-Sol Multi-Surface Cleaner, 9.5-oz. Bottles
Although I use this one all year round, I especially enjoy the pine fragrance around the holidays. It may even encourage me to clean the floors a little more often!

Kissable Vanilla Sugar Hand Soap
I'll be indulging myself and my guests this holiday with this "vanilla sugar" hand soap. Another item I haven't tried before but it smells just like freshly-baked cookies!
Sure Scents Crystal Beads Air Fresheners
Now, this one I absolutely love! It's great to put in the front hallway so you and your holiday guests can smell the Christmas as soon as you walk in the door. It also comes in Apple Cinnamon.
Cinnamon Stick Scented Fragrance Sachet, 30-g.
And the most highly anticipated one ... I haven't seen these before and had to go to a different Dollar Tree than usual, a little further away from my home, to find them. You could put these holiday scented sachets practically anywhere around the home (out of reach of small children and pets of course). They also come in Peppermint or Pine, however, this one was definitely my fave!
With my home smelling so festive and clean, I'm feeling super excited to decorate. Happy Holidays from Bright and Breezy Home Organization! For more tips and inspiration please check out our other blog posts or subscribe for immediate updates.
