Wrapping Paper Organizer Product Review and Reorganization (Regal Bazaar from Amazon)

As you can see, although our Christmas wrapping has been kept all together within one bin, as soon as it was brought out for regular use during the holidays, it tended to easily become both an eyesore and disorganized mess.

Aside from the obvious mess, without any other ideal place to keep it, it was also both blocking our furnace room door and presenting a surprise trip hazard when coming around the corner.

I wasn't sure just what the right solution could be but, of course, a quick Google search presented many options. Wanting to get things up off of the floor, I went with this hanging gift wrap organizer.

There were a few colour options, however, I went with black because, well, it matched my other furnace room organizers.

After only a day or two of anxiously awaiting my new organizing system, my package arrived and, upon opening, I could see right away that the materials used for this product did in fact seem to be of the "highest quality", as stated in the listing.

On the downside, however, some of the clear pockets were a little smaller than I had hoped.

After filling the wrapping organizer to the brim, it became clear that I was not going to be able to fit all of my wrapping supplies inside. However, I quickly realized that, actually, this was a good thing because, well, I seem to have unknowingly collected an extraordinary mass over the years, in part I think because I just couldn't see what I had. Ultimately, although I couldn't fit everything that I had inside of the organizer, I could see that all that did fit inside was plenty of wrapping to last for years and years to come.

Thus, I was both forced and motivated to purge the excess. And I'm thankful for that. Here's all the crap that I had been storing ... including crumpled paper, ribbon I don't particularly love and way too many crushed bows. I guess that's what happens when you try to cram too many things into one bin. As my favourite home organizer, Peter Walsh would say, "When you care about everything, you care about nothing."

A nice bonus is the back pockets which can be used for gift bags and tissue paper.

In order to fit a large pile of tags inside, I simply removed them from their packaging or cut the collections down to a smaller size. We definitely won't need to buy anymore of those for a while.

Surprisingly, with all that was put into this organizer, there's still room to grow. Five of these narrow wrapping rolls still left room for more. I'm guessing the max that this entire organizer could hold would be 12 dollar store sized rolls in total ... I mean, if you really want to have variety.

What I really like about this product is that, no matter how much stuff I seem to cram into this thing, there doesn't seem to be any question that it will be strong enough to handle the weight, with its sturdy material and hanger. Something to keep in mind, however, is that it did not include an over-the-door hook to hang it on, so I had to provide my own.

Although the clear pockets seem to be meant for bows, I opted to keep them outside of the organizer (as shown on bottom-right) because, well, I didn't want to overstuff the pockets and end up with even more squished bows. As well, we had many Christmas boxes (as shown on the left). My plan is to use up as many of these boxes and bags as I can this year and whatever doesn't fit back into the organizer will just have to go.

Now that I can clearly see what I have I can see that, well, I don't need to buy anymore gift wrap, for a long, long while ... which is great, given I just splurged on this organizer!

As an added bonus, I've now freed up an entire Christmas tote, which can be utilized to tuck away those excess items which I had been storing up on top of our Christmas bins.

If I simply do away with their boxes, they'll fit inside just fine.

Although I was met with much trepidation after clicking "complete order" as to whether or not I should have made this purchase, in the end I was very happy to clean up my basement area, make it easier for myself and my family to access the gift wrap and realize that I do not need to buy anymore wrapping supplies.
